Article Template

Journal of Data Science and Education (JDSEDU)

This template is designed to assist authors in preparing manuscripts that meet the formatting and structural requirements of the Journal of Data Science and Education (JDSEDU). Authors are required to follow this template carefully to ensure consistency, readability, and compliance with international publication standards.

General Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English using Times New Roman font. The main text should be formatted in 12-point font size, while section headings should use 14-point bold font. The document should be aligned using justified text with single line spacing (1.0–1.15). Standard page margins of 2.5 cm on all sides should be applied.

The manuscript should be structured using a two-column layout, except for the title, author information, and abstract, which must be presented in a single-column format. Authors are advised to use the predefined styles in this template (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) to ensure consistency throughout the document.

Manuscript Structure

Authors should organize their manuscripts according to the following standard structure:

  1. Title
  2. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  3. Abstract (150–250 words)
  4. Keywords (3–5 keywords)
  5. Introduction
  6. Literature Review
  7. Methodology
  8. Results and Discussion
  9. Conclusion
  10. Acknowledgments (optional)
  11. References

Each section must be clearly labeled and formatted according to the template.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should be written as a single paragraph and must clearly state the purpose of the study, methodology, key findings, and contributions. It should not contain citations, figures, or tables. Authors should provide 3–5 keywords that are relevant and support indexing.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be clearly presented and properly labeled. Table titles should be placed above the table, while figure captions should be placed below the figure. All tables and figures must be referenced in the text.

Example:

  • Table 1. Title of the Table (placed above)
  • Figure 1. Title of the Figure (placed below)

Sources must be provided where applicable.

Equations and Symbols

Mathematical equations should be clearly formatted and numbered if necessary. Symbols and variables must be defined when first introduced in the text.

References

All references must follow the APA (7th edition) citation style and include DOI links where available. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero to ensure accuracy and consistency. References should primarily consist of recent and relevant journal articles indexed in reputable databases (e.g., Scopus).

Submission Notes

Before submission, authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been submitted elsewhere
  • All sections are complete and properly formatted
  • Figures, tables, and references are correctly cited
  • The manuscript complies with ethical standards

Manuscripts that do not follow the template may be returned for revision prior to the review process.
